As we move into 2025, design trends are leaning heavily towards finding comfort, peace, and joy in our personal spaces, something we all need more of during these uncertain times. Dulux’s Colour Forecast for 2025 taps directly into this need, offering a curated palette that blends soothing tones with uplifting hues to bring a sense of balance and harmony into your home.

But what makes your home even more personal and unique? Art. That’s where my wildlife-inspired, nature-themed paintings come in. Art and colour together can transform not just the look of your space but also the energy it gives off. Let’s explore how you can combine my art with Dulux’s Colour Forecast 2025 to create a perfect sanctuary of joy, calm, and beauty.

The Dulux Colour Forecast 2025: A Palette for the Times

Dulux has broken down its 2025 Colour Forecast into three distinct categories: Still, Emerge, and Recollect. Each of these palettes offers a unique response to the current emotional climate around the world. With uncertainty looming large, the need for colours that evoke a sense of calm, security, and hope is stronger than ever.

Dulux Colour and Communications Manager, Lucena Orr, explained, “Colour can be a powerful antidote to lift spirits and provide a sense of comfort and warmth.” This is the same principle I follow with my artwork, creating pieces that resonate emotionally, not just visually.

Now, let's dive into how you can use these carefully curated colour palettes to complement my original art in your home.

1. The Still Palette: Creating a Sanctuary of Calm

The “Still” palette features nature inspired colours that bring muted darks and warm neutrals in to the homes. These are calming tones meant to nourish and comfort without overwhelming. If you're looking to bring subtle joy and warmth into your home, this palette is perfect.

How to Pair My Art with the Still Palette:

One of my original paintings that would complement this palette beautifully is 'Drop Bear', my portrait of a koala. The soft grey tones of the koala’s fur contrast with subtle hints of eucalyptus green and a delicate, warm atmosphere captured in the painting. When placed against walls painted in the Still palette, it will give a cohesive look that blends serenity with a hint of joy.

The colours in ‘Galahs,’ with its soft pinks and greys, are also a perfect match for this palette. The natural tones of the galah’s plumage will blend beautifully with pastel shades or mauves from Dulux's Still range, offering a harmonious touch of nature indoors.

2. The Emerge Palette: Nostalgia Meets Comfort

Emerge palette by Dulux Colour Forecast 2025
Dulux’s “Emerge” palette taps into cosy moods and relaxed feel. These are moody tones that create a cocoon-like environment includes soft greens, mauves and a deep red bringing good energy to the room. This palette is perfect for those who want to feel grounded while adding a touch of sophistication to their spaces.

How to Pair My Art with the Emerge Palette:

For this moody and reflective palette, my painting ‘Hidden Red Tail,’ featuring the majestic Red Tail Black Cockatoo, would be an ideal match. The rich, dark hues of the bird’s feathers, with undertones of purples, reds, and blues, would look stunning against a deep olive or wine-coloured wall. The subtle interplay of light and shadow in the painting will enhance the sense of depth that the Emerge palette aims to evoke.

Another excellent option is ‘It's Crunchy,’ my painting of the striking Green Rosella. With its bright yellow greens against a darker background, this piece would pop beautifully against the muted, comforting tones of the Emerge palette, adding a dynamic contrast while maintaining an overall mood of sophistication.

3. The Recollect Palette: Nostalgia and Reflection

The “Recollect” palette is designed to provide comfort in sense of nostalgia. Think deep olives, yellow-based greens, and rich wine hues, designed to evoke a sense of sophistication and reflection. These tones are reminiscent of simpler times and can transform your space into a sanctuary of calm and comfort.

How to Pair My Art with the Recollect Palette:

The calm and nostalgic energy of the Recollect palette makes it an ideal backdrop for pieces like ‘Crimson Fella,’ my Crimson Rosella painting. The vibrant reds of the bird's feathers would pair well with the muted tones in this palette, creating a seamless blend of nature and design.

The soft warmth of ‘Dropbear' would also complement this palette perfectly, adding camlness of the character that remains in harmony with the overall neutral vibe of your space. The greys of the Koala, when placed on a backdrop of warm neutrals or soft greens, will create a cohesive and tranquil atmosphere.
