Last Light - Lake Moogerah Sunset Photography Wall Art

Lake Moogerah on a winter evening, with the sun going down behind Mount Greville. The water had settled after a whole day of movement and had gone completely smooth, so still that the light seemed to sink into it rather than sit on top. I stood on the shale shelf at the edge and left the shutter open, letting the cloud drift slowly through the frame until it softened into long lavender and grey bands, lit apricot along their upper edges. All the warmth the day had gathered came pouring back out of the sky and ran down the middle of the lake, while the water either side of it stayed dark and deep. Birds were calling from the trees behind me, the air was cooling, and another beautiful day was quietly coming to an end as the lake went to sleep.
