Two lorikeets preening each other in the first warm sun of the day, and everything about the picture is unhurried. If you have ever had a coffee outside early while the birds got on with their morning, this is that. It is one of those paintings that makes a kitchen feel like a good place to stand.
Lorikeets are the most sociable birds we have and the least dignified. They preen, they squabble, they hang upside down for no reason. I gathered the references at Sherwood Arboretum, twenty minutes from my studio, which makes this one properly local.
The original oil painting was exhibited at the Nature's Beauty Exhibition in 2021 and exists once. A hand signed limited edition of five also exists for anyone who wants something scarce. This Bird Wall Decor print brings the same morning to a wall of your own.
Archival fine art paper, made up after you order rather than sitting waiting.
