"My Kingfisher Painting is a portrait of the sacred kingfisher, a bird I have admired for a long time for its patience. I once watched one hunt for what felt like an age, perfectly still, waiting for exactly the right instant. That stillness is what I set out to honour, not the strike that followed it.
