He is small in the frame and the landscape is doing most of the talking, which is exactly how you find one. Soft greens, quiet water, and a flash of blue that you only notice on the second look. It is a restful painting for a restless house, and it rewards being hung where you will pass it slowly.
I watched one hunt for what felt like half an hour. Absolutely still, waiting for a moment that had not arrived yet, and completely untroubled by the wait. I have thought about that bird a lot since, usually while failing to do the same thing.
The original oil painting was a finalist for Petite Pieces by Aspire Gallery in 2019 and exists only once. This Kingfisher Wall Art print carries the same stillness to anyone who could do with more of it.
