He is fast asleep in the fork of a eucalypt with his arms wrapped around the branch, and he is, without any argument, adorable. This is the painting people fall for immediately. It goes into bedrooms and nurseries and quiet corners, and everybody who walks past it does the same small involuntary sigh.
Koalas sleep most of the day and they do it with total commitment. No half measures, no keeping an eye out. Just a round grey animal wedged into a tree, entirely certain that the world will still be there later.
The original oil painting was exhibited at the RME Downlands and Nature's Beauty exhibitions in 2021 and exists only once. A hand signed limited edition of five also exists, which is as short a run as I do. This Koala Wall Art print is how he reaches everyone else.
Nothing is pre printed. Archival fine art paper, run at the size you ask for. The small and medium sizes are printed by me in my Brisbane studio, and the largest by a specialist fine art printer working at sheet sizes my press cannot reach.
