Every colour they have comes off them at once when they move, and I wanted that held still without killing it. The result is the most joyful thing I have painted. It goes on a wall and the room lifts. I have watched it happen in other people's houses and it is not subtle.
Rainbow bee-eaters are hard to believe in until one goes past you. They travel thousands of kilometres, catch everything they eat in mid air, and then nest in a tunnel they dig in the sand, which seems an undignified address for something that looks like this.
The original oil painting exists once and once only. A hand signed limited edition of five also exists, which is about as short a run as I do. This Colourful Wall Art print is the way the same colour reaches a wall that needs it.
Printing happens after you order, on archival fine art paper, at the size you need. The smaller and medium sizes are printed by me in Brisbane, and the largest by a specialist fine art printer working at sheet sizes my press cannot reach. Every Colourful Wall Art print is matched to the painting before it goes.
