This painting began with one bird. His name was Ninox, a barking owl I spent time with at Lone Pine Sanctuary, named for the soft, almost pleasant wook wook call that gives the species its name. I sat with him, gathered my references, and tried to hold his calm, watchful presence, the steady patience in his eyes, on canvas. My Barking Owl Original Painting is what came of those quiet hours, an unhurried portrait of a bird most people never get to study up close.
It is a genuine one of a kind oil on canvas, continued around the edges of a 35mm stretched canvas, hand signed and finished ready to hang.
If you love owls and Australian birds, I have other original paintings in the collection that may speak to you, and many of them have left the studio as deeply personal gifts for someone special. Take a look, and message me any time, as every enquiry comes straight to me.
