Organised by Aspire Art Gallery, Paddington, QLD
After obsessing about working on black swans I finally managed to track down a few pairs at Colleges Crossings - a local park at Ipswich with access to Brisbane river. I went there many times over 2019 winter with my camera and spent numerous hours to collect as many references as possible and try and understand their behaviour. 'Black Magic' is the final composition that I came up with and worked on in 2020 based on several photo references and my personal experiences.
This art is painted on high quality polycotton canvas stretched on MDF board backing. MDF backing gives added stability to the entire painting which is great for this size work. Painting is also professionally framed in a beautiful charcoal frame and is ready to be hung. Sides are painted as a continuation of the painting.
