Dove Lake at first light has a way of slipping out of the ordinary world. Fog hangs across the water, catching the early glow of the sun and softening the base of the mountain until it seems to float, while here and there the autumn bushes on the island burn a quiet orange in that first warm light. The whole scene feels dreamlike, hushed and a little unreal, the kind of morning you are not quite sure you imagined.
