Big Brother - Elephant Painting, Large Original Oil

A young bull is walking beside his little brother and this is the last time they will do it. Every young male leaves eventually, out into a life he will spend mostly alone, and he is right at the edge of that now, taking these final steps together before he turns away for good. It is one of those times we all know, when we must leave the people closest to us and move on, and those last few moments together become the ones we remember most. My Elephant Painting is that final goodbye, heavy in the heart, with the rising sun behind them promising the start of something new.

The original is oil on polycotton canvas over a solid panel backing, signed on the front. The edges are painted, so it hangs beautifully unframed, though you are welcome to frame it if that suits the room better. At 1500 by 1200mm it is the largest work in my collection, and standing in front of it is not the same as seeing it on a screen.
