She has the look of a bird who has heard it all before. Pink against a hard blue sky, wattle going off around her like small yellow fireworks, and Bella entirely unbothered by any of it. If you grew up anywhere with galahs in the afternoon, she will take you straight back, and that is a thing worth having on a wall.
I painted her alone deliberately. Galahs are usually shown mid chaos, and I wanted the other version, the one who has found her branch and intends to keep it. There is a self possession in her that people respond to before they can say why.
The original oil painting is a one of a kind work and only one household will ever live with it. This Galah Wall Art print puts her in yours in the meantime.
