Sleeping Beauty is one of the most personal pieces I have ever painted. I gathered the koala reference at Lone Pine Sanctuary, and it was the devastation our bushfires brought to these gentle animals that compelled me to start it, composing the surrounding branches from references around Brisbane's western suburbs. The result is a koala at complete peace in a eucalyptus, and it went on to be exhibited at the RME Downlands and Nature's Beauty exhibitions in 2021. My Koala Oil Painting still means a great deal to me.
It is a one of a kind, hand signed original oil on canvas. This particular painting has sold, but its story keeps drawing people in.
