"My Galah Painting, Bella, is a portrait of one of the most charismatic birds we have, and I deliberately painted her calm rather than showy. Soft pink and grey, an unhurried presence, the sort of bird you watch for a while without meaning to. Galahs are usually painted for their comedy. I wanted her grace instead.
