This Corella Print came from a brief spell of impossible light. The storm had just passed, the sky was still unsettled, and everything near the ground had turned soft pink. Two corellas were battling in mid-air, not far above the earth, caught in that strange glow as if the afternoon had slipped into a fairytale for a minute. They are white birds, but in that light, they looked touched by something else entirely.

Corellas argue constantly and almost none of it means a thing. They gather in their hundreds, they shout at each other about nothing, and by evening they are all sitting in the same tree as though the whole business never happened. There is something oddly reassuring about a disagreement with no consequences whatsoever.

Only five numbered Corella Print canvases will ever exist. The original oil painting has gone to a single collector. The same afternoon is also available as an open edition paper print if a numbered canvas is not what you need. This is a large format artwork, and the canvas carries it in a way smaller paper sizes cannot quite manage.
