That yellow arrives in a room the way sunlight does. A golden whistler on a bare branch against clean white, and nothing competing with him for attention. It is a small, bright, cheerful thing to hang somewhere you pass often, and it works particularly well in a study or a reading corner.
Golden whistlers are heard far more often than seen. The song carries a long way through thick bush, and they will answer thunder, which is one of the more charming facts I know about any bird. Then one appears, and it is this yellow.
This Australian Bird Watercolour belongs to a small group of watercolours in the collection, and they were made to be seen together. Two or three along a wall does more than any one of them by itself. My blog has a piece on curating a wall if you would like a hand.
On archival fine art paper, made individually rather than pulled from stock. Each print is made on archival fine art paper once you have ordered it. The smaller and medium sizes are printed by me in my Brisbane studio, and the largest by a specialist fine art printer with a wider press than mine. Yellow is difficult to hold true, so every Australian Bird Watercolour print is matched to the original sheet.
