A green rosella works through a crunchy seed among the twigs, deep in bushland it has known all its life and still finding something new in it. The bush has turned to the colours of autumn, and the rosella disappears into them almost completely, free to get on with breakfast unnoticed and in no hurry whatsoever. It is a bit like starting an ordinary day with a real appetite for it, and finding there is more crunch in it than you expected. This Australian Bird Art of mine is all character and hunger, and there is real nostalgia in a bushland breakfast like this one.
