I was lucky enough to experience the moment a watchful mother ringtail possum carried her curious joey across a branch. Every step she took was slower and harder for the weight on her back, and she took it anyway, without a thought. That is what the painting is about, and any parent who has held a family together on their own will feel this one, because carrying the whole weight so a child can just get on with being a child is the most selfless thing there is. My Possum Painting holds that bond, and it is one most of us have been on one side of or the other.
Selected as a finalist and exhibited at the Brisbane Rotary Art Show in 2025.
The original is oil on linen canvas, signed on the front, framed in oak and ready to hang. One of a kind.
